Description

In the first painting of the triptych Eleonora and Martina, the full complexity of twin bonds emerges through two figures that stand as symbols of unity yet, at the same time, independence. With their eyes closed, the two twins express their world, inviting the viewer to explore the depths of their thoughts and their shared and individual experiences.

The technique employed, which combines pencil, charcoal, sanguine, sepia, and oil on canvas, adds a tactile and sensory dimension to the composition, enhancing the richness and complexity of the portrayed personalities.

Martina, depicted in profile on the right side of the canvas, and Eleonora, captured frontally in the background, channel the dualism of twinhood: two distinct worlds intertwined in a delicate balance between harmony and conflict.

The tensions, misunderstandings, and peculiar solitude that sometimes accompany this unique bond are revealed with particular sensitivity, fueled by the personal experience of the artist, who is also a twin.
