The artist captures the pure and intense gaze of this indigenous child, who perhaps hopes for a better future for her country, for her rich and tormented land, the land of origin of the painter. Darkness and light, and colours to represent the life of men and nations.
Crises are experienced but they can also be overcome. Childhood is the hope, the innocence for which it is worth changing…
