Description
Magaly copied “Ballerinas in Rosa”, (1880-1885) by Degas.
The artist choses the dancing feminine figure as a symbol of the perfect harmony between grace and physical resistance. The magnificence of the theatrical figure hides the body’s effort. The limbs are taken to their maximum potential in the exercise. The realism actualizes itself in the idealization of the feminine figure in an ungraceful representation. However, the young dancers don’t lose the delicacy of their features and the concentration of their eyes.
