Pensando a Giulia is a heartfelt tribute to Giulia Cecchettin — a young Italian woman whose life was taken by male violence — and to all the women lost to femicide, especially during the year
2024 in which Italy reached over 100 such tragedies.
The painting merges strength and fragility through expressive materials. Natural branches and leaves, embedded in the composition, symbolize a connection to the Earth; the gold leaf reflects dignity and hope for a different future.
At the heart of the composition, a piercing gaze speaks of courage, vulnerability, and the deep cost of a freedom still denied to many.
